If your humor doesn't tickle your audience's funny bone, build your TIES to your audience:
- Timing - make your punch line occur faster or slower
- Informing - ensure your audience has enough information to know what you are talking about
- Emoting - make your face and body show what you are talking about
- Slowing - slow down the pace you say your speech to make sure the audience understands your words
