To connect with your audience:
- Audience analysis - analyze who the audience is that you are or that you want to speak to
- Find their pain - understand what the problems are for your audience and target your speech to focus on those problems
- Begin with the benefits - let the audience know at the beginning of the speech what they will get and how your speech will help them solve their problems and cure their pain
- Use the "you" - use the word "you" repeatedly in your speech to make your speech personal and impactful
