Calming down

Fellow speaker,

Mark Heaps of the presentation company Duarte suggests these tips for reducing nervousness and stuttering on stage:
  • Visualize - focus on something positive and relaxing, and clearly see it in "your mind's eye" right before giving your speech to relax and calm you down
  • Familiarize - visit the place where you will do your speech and get very familiar with it so your comfortable when onstage
  • Vocalize - lie on your back in a dark, quiet room and say your speech out loud - this will make you focus on your voice and what you are saying so you can improve it
Calmly,
