Capture the rapture

Fellow speaker,

Some ways to capture the audiences attention are:
  • Give them the show business - talk about broadway or movies, give movie or broadway quotes, or talk about other show business related things
  • Commit to curiosity - tease your audience at the beginning, tell a story that you finish much later in your speech, or give a hint at the things you are going to talk about without giving all the details
  • A quote of note - take a famous quotation and then add a "twist" to it (e.g., "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him think.")
