TED speaker and curator Chris Anderson suggests if you use a video clip:
- Keep it short - no longer than 60 seconds
- Make it relevant to the topic - shouldn't be an "informercial" about you (e.g., a clip of you being interviewed)
- Be careful about soundtracks - soundtracks can be annoying
