More room connections

Fellow speaker,

To connect with the audience, move toward the audience.  To make this powerful in your presentation, find the places in your presentation where you want the most audience attention, then move toward the audience during those points, move away from the audience after the "high point" is over.  The method you use depends on the room:
  • Round tables - very challenging because much of audience may be facing away from you - try to get the round tables half-filled, so they are facing the stage - keep moving around the room, possibly beginning at the back of the room
  • Rectangular breakout - worst of the rooms - people tend to sit in the back so they can easily leave - ask the audience to move into the front rows - if there is an aisle, step deep into the aisle to energize the audience - keep continual connection with the front, left, and middle parts of the stage
