Quick connect

Fellow speaker,

Mentioning a reference to a well-known story, poem, music piece, or pop culture reference can instantly connect you to your audience.  When referencing don't explain the reference...it should be well-known enough to the audience that it needs no explanation (e.g., "I was moving so slow yesterday I felt like a tortoise, but without the positive finish." referencing Aesop's fable "The Tortoise and the Hare").

Referencing,
