When mentioning a reference to a well-known story, poem, music piece, or pop culture reference, keep in mind:
- Fairy tales and folk tales speak to the "inner child"
- Classical poetry and literature work best with an "educated" audience
- Popular music and television shows are very effective, but only for a very limited period of time (research your audience to find out which music and television appeals to them)
