Fellow speaker,
According to World Champion Speaker Darren LaCroix, one way to open your speech if you are speaking at a conference is "I love [your theme]!" Substitute "your theme" with the theme of the conference and tie the theme into your speech. For example, if you are at a conference with a theme of "Think bigger" and you are giving a speech on motivation, you could say, "I love this idea of "Think bigger"! Thanks to "thinking bigger" I have been able to motivate myself to success and today you will learn how to use "thinking bigger" and several other techniques to motivate yourself to achieve miracles!"
