World Champion Speaker Craig Valentine says there are 9 Cs in storytelling:
- Curiosity (throughout story)
- Circumstance (background of the characters in the story)
- Characters
- Conversations (dialogues between characters or the character talking to themself)
- Callback (mentioning previously mentioned characters or events)
- Conflict (build the conflict)
- Cure (time when you learn something from someone else)
- Change (explain how this new awareness changed you)
- Carryout (message that the audience takes away with them)
