Persuasion - Part 1

Fellow speaker,

To persuade first identify the problem your audience faces:
  • Limit the problem - focus on definite things - for example, instead of talking about the "challenges of recessions" talk about the "challenges of the recession of 2008-9"
  • Make the problem important - describe the problem in a way which makes clear why it is important
  • Focus on your audience's interest in the problem - the problem directly affects and is important to your audience
