When you are reading a prepared text, make sure you have audience connection at all times. To ensure this, use the three S's:
- Stop - Stop what you are saying
- See - See the text, and read silently a fairly long passage so that it "sticks" in your mind
- Say - Say the entire passage to the audience, without looking back at the text
