Same but different

Fellow speaker,

To make your speech more interesting to your audience, use a commonly known phrase or idea, but put into it your own special twist.  For example, if you are giving a speech about a man named Gulligan who stole money from a company to pay for personal trips, you could talk about "Gulligan's Travels", playing off of the audience's awareness of the famous book "Gulliver's Travels" but adding in your own twist to the title.
