Three to go

Fellow speaker,

If you move back and forth onstage, you need to need to have a purpose and a reasons for moving.  Here are three reasons for moving back and forth onstage:
  • You are describing an action in a story - for example, you set up one scene which takes place in your home, one which takes place at your office, and you move onstage to indicate moving from one scene to the other
  • You are using a timeline - for example, if you are talking about the progress you have made in your life from drinking to stopping drinking, each point in your life you talk about you talk about in a different place on stage.  And you move from your audience's left to your audience's right to show each point in your life.
  • You want to show an outline of your speech - for example, if you have a speech about three different points, you stand in a different position onstage when you talk about each of the points.
Moving,

Tim
