It's all a process

Fellow speaker,

Stand up comedian Dean Lewis suggests you use this process to create a joke:
  1. Find a fact
  2. List 10 assumptions about that fact
  3. Create a misdirection from the assumption
  4. Put the punch line mentioning the misdirection at the end of the speech
Example:
  1. Some people have skylights in their building
  2. All skylights are located on the top floor
  3. Create a situation where the skylight is NOT located on the top floor
  4. Put the reveal of the skylight's location at the end of the joke
Example (from Steven Wright): "I've been getting into astronomy, so I installed a skylight. The people who live above me are furious."
