May I quote you?

Fellow speaker,

Speaking Coach Jerry Weissman suggests when doing slide presentations which have a quote on them, say something about the quote to the audience (don't read the quote or read part of the quote), turn to face the screen, and read the quote to yourself in silence slowly. After you have finished reading the quote to yourself, turn to face the audience and look to see when people look over at you. This will tell you most of the audience has finished reading the quote. Say something more about the quote that is not a reading of all or part of the quote.
