Speaking Coach Jerry Weissman suggests when doing slide presentations when you reveal your slide you pause and take time to look at it as if you are seeing it for the first time. This will allow your audience, who is seeing it for the first time, time to look at the slide completely. Afterwards the audience will naturally turn their attention back to you. Then continue your spoken presentation about the newly revealed slide.
