Emotional change

Fellow speaker,

World Champion Speaker Craig Valentine suggests you "set up your let down". Build up the emotions in your story so when you come to the climax you can have a dramatic change in that emotion. For example, when telling the story of a person who thought they knew what they were talking about, build up the confidence and bragging and, after they find out they were wrong, follow that up with same person being stunned and in disbelief.
