Speech coach Jeremy Donovan suggests you follow this process when pitching an idea for solving a problem:
- Personally relevant - make your audience feel a connection to your problem
- Move from personal to societal - show how that personal issue is relevant to society as a whole
- Introduce yourself
- Drill down - drill down into what you will do to solve a problem
- Demonstrate success - give a clear example of what solving the problem looks like
- Call to action - ask the audience to take a next step towards helping you solve your problem
