Speech coach Jeremy Donovan suggests four different ways to develop stories in your speech:
- Linear - one story told in the order that events occurred
- Independent - two or more stories told one after the other
- Flashback - one story is started and then interrupted with another story that happened earlier than the main story
- Nonlinear - several stories are split up and told in an alternating style
