Speech coach Nick Morgan suggests several different ways to practice your speech:
- Outline - practice your entire speech in 5-7 minutes (regardless of how long it is)
- Story - practice your opening story focusing on necessary detail, simple words, and emotional audience connection
- Over-the-top - practice your speech in random emotional styles (e.g., practice half of the speech speaking in a hugely happy way and the other half of it a wrenchingly depressing way)
