Easy improv

Fellow speaker,

Second City improv uses this improv game to get people to develop quick creativity:
  1. Choose two people from the audience
  2. Audience gives an action the people can pretend to do (e.g., "Make pizza")
  3. Both people make the same motion to show what they are doing (e.g., both people make the same motions to indicate they are "making pizza")
  4. One person says what they are doing, finishing with "Try that on for size." (e.g., "I'm making pizza. Try that on for size.")
  5. Second person comes up with a NEW meaning for the motion, finishing with "Try that on for size." (e.g., "I'm conducting. Try that on for size."
  6. Player's turn ends when they can't think of a new meaning for the motion
  7. Player whose turn is over then picks out someone to go next
  8. New person takes over the old player's position and the game repeats from step 2
  9. Game ends when all volunteers have had a turn
