According to presentation professor Andrew Abela, when creating a stand-alone board room presentation document that is meant to be read not presented, use call-out boxes that show the conclusions people reading the document are supposed to come to. For example, if you have a bar graph of sales with the bar increasing every year, you could use a call-out box to say, "Sales are going up yearly".
