Twist and shout

Fellow speaker,

World Champion Craig Valentine suggests you can get more out of your humor if you work to develop the twists in your speech, the times where you lead the audience to believe one thing, then suddenly switch to something else:
  1. Use the "rule of three" - set up two similar things with one different thing
  2. Sell the direction you are going, look like you are committed to continue talking about those similar things
  3. Show the twist where you suddenly switch to something else through body movement, facial expression, etc.
Twisted,
