World Champion Craig Valentine suggests looking at these common issues and solutions if your humor isn't working with your audiences:
- You rushed the line - don’t be afraid of your own line, give it deliberately with confidence and certainty
- Audience doesn't understand the line (especially international audiences) - make the line very clear, leaving out jargon and explaining what is going on
- Delivered without a strong facial expression - practice your facial expressions so they are dramatic and instantly show the emotion/feeling you want the audience to get
- Not a funny line (provided) you have thoroughly tested it and there is no indication anyone finds your line funny) - give up on that line and get a new one
