Disaster story

Fellow speaker,

When you talk about a disaster that is widely known and has had a huge cultural impact (e.g., 9/11), don't describe it in detail. Instead, pick out a little scene (e.g., the firemen on 9/11 rushing into the building before it collapsed) and focus on that instead. Then relate that little scene to your message.
