Hooking

Fellow speaker,

World Champion speaker Craig Valentine says there are several hooks you can use to effectively hook the audience into listening to your speech:
  • Most people - mention what "most people" do and then let your audience know how they can do something different and better from "most people"
  • Conflict - if you are telling a story, develop and build the conflict
  • Silence - pause a long time at a dramatic place in your talk
Still hooked,
