Three seconds

Fellow speaker,

Professional presentation coach Nancy Duarte suggests you use a "three second rule" for the slides in your speech. If your audience can't understand the point of your slide in three seconds, then the slide is too complicated. Think of your slide like a highway billboard which has to get its point across almost instantly to the audience before their attention shifts onto you and your speech.
