To make sure your speech goes smoothly, arrive as early as you can to the speaking site. Showing up at the last minute means you can't fix the room setup, print more handouts, get needed accessories, etc. Showing up early allows you time to fix problems. The earlier you arrive, the more time you have to make sure all problems are spotted and fixed before you get onstage.
