Brian Caplovitz of SpeakerMatch suggests several ways to get non-cash compensation for free speeches:
- Get a write-up in the organization's newsletter - give them an article you have written for them to publish or do a feature about you and your topic - get in the online version of the newsletter as well
- Ask them to put your business card on every seat in the room
- Get them to allow you to ask your audience for leads - your audience knows people who want to hear your message, asking them directly (in handouts or something else) increases your chances of getting booked somewhere else
