- Combine words and pictures in one slide
- Speak your points in depth to the audience rather than putting your points in depth on your slide
- Keep all content in the slide focused on the message of your speech
- Direct the audience's eye (using an arrow, circle, etc.) to the area they are supposed to pay attention to
