Opposite day

Fellow speaker,

One way to get the audience to pay attention to  your point is to do the opposite of your pattern.  For instance, if you are usually loud, suddenly speak softer.  If you move around a lot, suddenly stop moving.  This sudden change in behavior will focus the audience in on that moment and bring their attention in on you.  Don't do this too frequently:  only for your most important speaking points.
