Condense to connnect

Fellow speaker,

World Champion Speaker Craig Valentine says a good storyteller has to "condense to connect."  Condense what actually happened in your life and reduce it down into a short, powerful story.  Craig suggests condensing:
  • Time - reduce down the actual amount of time things happened to move the story along faster
  • Events - only use the most important happenings of an event in your story
  • Conversations - only use the most powerful parts of your original conversation
  • Groups - only use the groups who were most impactful to your decision (e.g., if you talked to all of your friends, your wife, and your best friend and your wife said something that changes your mind, only use your wife in the story)
Well-condensed,
