Fellow speaker,
When onstage, use the space and spend some time in giving your speech. If you scrunch in, hunch over, and keep your hands in front of your body, you use very little space on the stage and look powerless. Similarly, if you talk very quickly you seem nervous. If you open up, stand up, and keep your hands at the side of your body, you use much more space on the stage and look powerful. Similarly, if you talk a little slower and more deliberately you seem "large and in charge" on the stage.
Spacing out,
Tim
