On topic every time

Fellow speaker,

To keep yourself on your speech topic:
  1. Have clear objectives for your speech - know why you are speaking and what you want your audience to get out of your speech
  2. Prepare constantly - work on the speech many times before standing up to give it in front of an audience
  3. Quickly handle off-topic questions asked during your speech - if someone asks a question that is not relevant to your speech, quickly answer it or move away from it, and focus in on someone else in the audience who has an on-topic question
Topicially,

Tim
