Forming the phrase

Fellow speaker,

To make sure your foundational phrase (main point) is memorable to your audience:

1. Tell a person to listen closely to what you say
2. Give your foundational phrase
3. Change the subject to something else
4. 10 minutes later ask the person to tell you what your foundational phrase was

If they can't remember it...it wasn't that memorable!  Change the foundational phrase so it is something that sticks in people's mind.
