Fellow speaker,
Comedian Katie Grady uses a dictionary of cliches to get her humorous ideas (a cliche is a saying that is said many times over so that it is now unoriginal and everyone knows it). The first part of the cliche becomes the setup, and the second part of the cliche becomes the humor punchline. So for example, with the cliche "Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a lifetime," Katie splits this into "Give a man a fish" (setup) and then creates a new ending. In this case, "Give a man a fish, and he'll probably be pretty confused."
Cliched,
Tim
