If your speech is going really well and the audience is having a great time it's easy to lose your speech timing. As a result, you don't have time to do all the things you planned to do. When this happens, hit the brakes. Instead of doing your regular closing (which would take too long), do a quick close to wrap the speech up with some type of thought or message for the audience.
