Praise yourself to make a point. If you are a top performer in your field, give credit to doing that for something you are doing that your audience can do, too. For example, you could say, "Keep a laser-focus on your goal and you will achieve great things. I have been keeping that laser-focus on my goal of being a doctor and today I am the top doctor in the tri-state area, thanks to that focus."
