If only...

Fellow speaker,

One simple change you can make in your speech is to change your "ifs" to "when".  "When" is a definite, powerful word.  For example, instead of saying, "If you follow these three simple steps" say "When you follow these three, simple steps."  Your audience will feel the difference between the vague "if" and the confident "when."
