Anchor down

Fellow speaker,

You want to "anchor" your speech in your audience mind.  Here are four tools you can use to make this happen:
  1. Anecdote (Story) - tell a story that involves your point
  2. Analogy - tell how something is like something else
  3. Acronym - spell out a word with the first letters of your points (e.g., Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, Timebound spells "SMART")
  4. Activity - get the audience to do something that relates to your point
