The three R's

Fellow speaker,

When speaking to adults, remember the three R's of adult learning:
  • Reinforce - Your speech may be about reminding the people of something they know, but have some concerns about.  Your reinforcing gives them confidence that they are doing things the right way.
  • Remind - Your speech could be about reminding people to do something they know they should do, but have stopped doing for some reason.  Your reminding gets them back on track doing the right thing.
  • Refresh - Your speech could be about something completely new, that gets them to do things in a completely new way.  This lesson is the most challenging to get across, since people tend to stick with doing the things they know best.
Spelling it out,

Tim
