Fellow speaker,
Before you go onstage, have a clear sense of where the path to the stage is. It is best if you are out of the audience and onstage in the wings. If that is not possible, then at least be as close to the stage as possible, so you are ready to go onstage quickly when you are announced. Choose a path that is free of cables, cords, or other objects on the floor.
