The look

Fellow speaker,

When creating story dialog, World Champion Speaker Craig Valentine suggests talking about how people look at the characters in the story.  For example, you could say, "Bob looked at me as if to say, "Nice try!" "  In this case Bob didn't actually say "Nice try!".  The dialog comes entirely from trying to interpret how Bob's look affected the teller of the story.
