Fellow speaker,
When you are going back and forth between characters in a dialogue, you can use "he said" or "she said" as a little aside in the middle of the dialogue. This makes it clearer which person is talking at the time. For example, if you have a speech with a person named Bob in it, you could say, "And Bob said..."
