When telling a story using gestures to imitate objects (e.g., using a "phone" gesture), make sure you imitate correctly. Practice using the real object and see how you actually hold it and then work on holding the object that way in your speech. For example, if you are using a "phone" gesture in your speech, practice holding a real phone, see where your hands are, then practice without holding the phone and put your hands in the same position as they were when you held the phone.
