If you want to praise yourself in a speech...get someone else to say it! Use a character in a story and have them praise you. Then you can describe the process you used to get to where you are today. For example, you could say, "My close friend Al once asked me, "How did you win the tri-county bicycle race?" And I said, "Well, Al, I made sure to plan out what I was doing the day before. Planning was key in winning that race." " And then talk about the need to plan.
