Fellow speaker,
If you are using a hand-held microphone, hold it lightly between your thumb and fingers (find the balance point - where the microphone would naturally balance if you set it on the edge of a table). Adjust it so it is 6 to 12 inches from your mouth. Never hold the foam cover on the microphone since this could cause feedback.
