Developing a metaphor in your story gives the audience something to hold onto. To develop a metaphor:
- Ask yourself, "What can the concept in my speech compare to?"
- Fit stories to the metaphor you discover
- Use a gesture/posture while saying the metaphor in your speech - once you use the gesture/posture a few times in the speech, the audience will remember the metaphor and you won't need to say anything to get your point across
Metaphorically,
Tim
