In your stories, every object in your scene must have its own place. Be consistent with where you place the objects in your scene and how you use objects in your story. For example, if you pick up the phone in one area of the stage (i.e., make a "picking up the phone and talking on it gesture"), make sure you pick up the phone in the same place later on in your speech.
